WHAT IS A "MEDALLION SIGNATURE GUARANTEE"?

A Medallion Signature Guarantee is a stamp provided by a financial institution that verifies your signature. You endorse the certificate on the back and have the signature(s) guaranteed by an eligible guarantor institution such as a commercial bank, trust company, security broker or dealer, credit union, or a savings association participating in the Medallion Signature Guarantee Program approved by the Securities Transfer Association, Inc. No other form of signature verification can be accepted, so please make sure that you specify a "Medallion Signature Guarantee" when requesting a signature guarantee from your financial institution.


STC can only accept guarantees from an eligible guarantor institution that is a participant in a signature guarantee program supported/approved by the SEC, STA (Securities Transfer Association) and STC. This program includes:

A Medallion Signature Guarantee may be obtained at any national bank or
brokerage firm.
